In Modern Chinese, objective sentences are often used to express purposes. Objective sentences are widely applied in daily life and conversation and it indicates a relation between ends and means. However, in the early time of research, people didn’t attach more importance to those sentences. It has been set as separate catalogue since scholars saw the difference between objective sentences and cause-effect sentences. This paper will make a detailed description and comparison of some function words which indicate a relation between ends and means.Error analysis has been taken the significant position on the research for teaching as second language and an effective way to improve Chinese teaching. Foreign students always make various mistakes when they begin to study those prepositions and conjunctions which indicate a relation between ends and means. Therefore, this paper is going to analyze and study those mistakes and try to find the reasons on basis of Interlanguage Corpus.This paper includes four chapters. The introduction mainly recommends the researching significance、researching methods and basic principles of this paper. Chapterl is an explicit description of“为”and“为了”from a syntactic and semantic angle. Chapter2divides conjunction“以”into two parts-—“求得式”and“求免式”.firstly, then make an explicit description of the members of those two groups, finally make a comparison of“以”and“来”、“以免”、“免得”and“省得”.Chapter3is trying to make a more scientific analysis of data statistics and find the reason of those mistakes made by foreign students. Chapter4is trying to put forward some ideas and suggestions for future Chinese teaching on the research of Chapter3.
