This paper treat the words of single Landmark buildings and their components as the research object and explore the general characteristics of building words from the perspective of naming rule and word formation based on the building words of Yangzhou Pleasure-boat.The Paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction, which introduce the Yangzhou Pleasure-boat, and the Research Status, the theory, the method and significance of building words.The second part is to introduce the general situation of Yangzhou Pleasure-boat and its building words. First of all, introduce the Life Story of LiDou.secondly, analysis the content and version of Yangzhou Pleasure-boat; then, induce the characteristics of buildings in Qing dynasty; finally, put forward the determination and interviews of Yangzhou Pleasure-boat.The third part is the classification exploration of building words of Yangzhou Pleasure-boat. Firstly, six words——houseboat, que, memorial arch, HuaBiao, screen wall, Female wall, which have the landmark significance,165words of single Landmark buildings were classified and interpreted according to the material and type, then induce the naming characteristics, reveals their Naming rule and Creation Modes. Finally, analysis the general characteristics of building words.The fourth part is to discuss cultural connotation of building words. Architecture and culture are closely related, the naming of building words can reflect the Chinese cultural connotation. The cultural connotation of building words were associated with the China’s traditional system cultural.The fifth part is the conclusion which inducts the achievement and points out the shortage of the paper.
