The Analysis On The Language Style Of Mencius

Among the many studies about Mencius, we have yet not to find the works from the perspective of Linguistic Stylistics to carry through a comprehensive, systematic analysis about the language style of the book named Mencius.In the course of study, we used many research methods such as comprehensive analysis, statistical research, visual description, comparison and so on to achieve a detailed exposition and analysis focused on the language style, the constituent elements and means, and the reasons for the unique language style. It is structured as follows.l,in the view of language style, through research, we found that Mencius had its own unique language style:the tone of Mencius is simple but abundant and vigorous momentum. And the language style of specific language performance are described, which build a good foundation for later exposition.2, in the language style means and element research, we discussed the constituent elements and means of style such as precise and felicitous words, diverse sentences and abundance rhetoric methods, for instance synonyms, balanced sentence, casual sentence and so on.3,we discussed the reasons on the Mencius for its unique language style, we thought the social environment, Mencius concept of language and individuality and so on all had important impacts on the formation of Mencius.4,in addition, we compare the unique language style of Mencius and "zhuangzi" in order to make sure the important role of the constituent elements and means of style.Finally, it is a brief summary of the whole paper. We believe that this study plays an important role of in the study of Mencius, the Linguistic Stylistics, Literature Appreciation and Writing and so on.
