Research On Digital Media Technology Which Applied Into Paper-cut Animation

Chinese animation is regarded as Chinese School in the world animation for its important part in this field. Paper-cut animation and ink animation stand for popular and refined art of Chinese School respectively. Both of them play an irreplaceable role in Chinese animation history. Owing to its unique Chinese cultural ethos, paper-cut animation enjoys great art and social value. In the new century, countries around the world have paid more and more attention to the cultural and economic effect caused by animation industry. With the increasing use of digital media technology, national animation has been updated and upgraded constantly, which make paper-cut animation a new application field as well as a new and key development. As for the development of the paper-cut animation, we should not only inherit and develop, but also make use of the new techniques and methods to improve it, which will instill life into this field and make it a new approach in the development of Chinese animation.By researching the method of making digital paper-cut animation, this paper explored the aesthetic feature of paper-cut animation in digital environment and the application of digital technique in paper-cut animation. The paper also analyzed the reason why we need to digitize the paper-cut animation and its advantages brought about by digitization from the theoretical aspect. In the practical field, a digital paper-cut named Door God has been made by combining the digital media technology with the Northern School paper-cut art originated from Shanxi and Shaanxi Province. Based on the application of digital paper-cut, process system of digital production has been put forward by taking soft wares like Anime, Studio Pro and3d MAX as platform. In the process, apply soft wares like Adobe, Photoshop, After Effect and EDIUS to making animation film with traditional styles. Finally, use mobile terminal and network technology to disseminate it. In addition, on the basis of the three types of classifying paper-cut, raised by Chen shanqiao, a folklore expert, the paper also explored the way to use the inherited paper-cu t, digital acquisition and soft wares like Adobe and Photoshop to design paper-cut animation. In the last part of the paper, with the research on traditional technique in paper-cut animation and its aesthetic feature, the author applied advantages of digital techniques to paper-cut animation and established a complete production system of digital paper-cut animation.
