| The Bible is a classic book in west Christianity and a great work in literature history; it is also an abundant treasure in west philosophy, ethics, morality, art, history, geography, society and folklore subjects. The Bible is a widespread book that is characterized by the most versions, the most widespread book and the most readers in history.The translation of Chinese Version began in Qing Dynasty during which many different versions appeared. These versions played an important role in the spread of Christianity.This paper not only gives a brief recall of English translation history, but also states the Chinese Bible Versions in details. The paper choose Proverbs of Today’s Chinese Version as study object. According to Nida’s translation theory, the paper aims to prove the effectiveness translation of "Functional Equivalence ’Trom Today’s Chinese Version to Today’s English Version.The Functional Equivalence has great influence on Bible translation field. Under the guideline of the theory, the paper analyze the Proverbs translation and prove the effectiveness from Today’s English Version to Today’s Chinese Version from several aspects. At the same time, the paper points out that there are limitations in translation and trys to give some modified methods. With the improvement of translation theory, more and better versions will appear in the future. |
