Study On "the Fang Guan Event" And Du Fu’s Poetry Creation

As a great poet in Chinese history, the literature significance of Du fu is self-evident, not only at thattime but also on later generations. As a result, lots of people have been studying on Du fu.But the researchof "the Fang guan event" and the influence of this event on Du fu’s psychological and his poetry creationremains to be improved. Based on the "the Fang guan event " and its related historical sources, trying toexplore the reasons for the failure of Du fu’s saving Fang guan, integrating with Du fu’s poetry creation, theinfluence of "the Fang guan event" on Du fu’s psychological and his poetry creation will be found by thisresearch. And the text will be carried out from the following three aspects：Firstly, combining with the related historical datas about “the Fang guan event”, then find out thereason why Du fu was failed to save Fang guan and the reason why Emperor Suzong degraded Fang guan.Through the comparison of these two aspects, it will be concluded that Du fu was drawn into this politicalbattle due to his poor awareness of the complexity of the political struggle and then he became a victim ofthe fighting. And this had a significant influence on his whole life, and so it was the largest thing of his life.Secondly, under the premise of "the Fang guan event", integrating with Du fu’s poetic creation,thenfind out the influence of "the Fang guan event" on Du fu’s psychological and his poetry creation.Thischapter will be discussed from these five aspects:apprehensionand disappointed state of mind,depressedwith the broad-minded, the change of the attitudes of loyalty, painful hesitation between being officials andbeing hermits. After "the Fang guan event", Du fu was very apprehensive by the emperor’s sustainingsevere blow on Fang guan’s group. Hoping assisting the emperor, but overwhelmed by the relentless facts.and along with the political disillusionment, he changed his loyalty ideas from ideal conjunction with theemperor and minister to the disappointment of the emperor.though cherishing the hope to be a judiciousliege, but not being favored by chances, the formation of depression was due to this in a great extent. butthe natural beautiful scenery and the influence of Taoist thought made Du fu’s mind become moredetachment and broad-mindedness. But deeply influenced by Confucian thought, Du fu was still Concernedabout the affairs of state when he got away from officials. He was always pushing in pain between beingofficials and being hermits. Thirdly, the impact of "the Fang guan event" on Du fu’s poetry creation will be related and analyzed.This chapter will be carried on from three aspects: more realistic and grand poetry content, new changes insuite poems of eight lines, and poetic style of "depression with rhythm" and "natural morbidezza". After"the Fang guan event", Du fu indeedly came to the people and approached the life. during this time, theconcern for national affairs and the livelihood of the people suffering, the bitterness of the life, the finedetail scenery of mountains and rivers, petty things in everyday life, and even those blight things were all inhis poems, which were great realistic performance on his poetry content. But exhausted by failure of thepolitical career, tortured by the repeatedly disappointments, Du fu was forced to do calmly self-reflection inthis holpless reality. Naturally, his poetry creation was changed from specific description of events tofocusing on personalized emotion expressing. He pinned his feeling of drifting and sighing of fate on thepoems, and reached the state of high integration of feeling and scene, poem and history. Expressing soprofound and implicit feelings, one poem of eight lines appears restrictive, but suit poems have solved thisproblem very well. Suite poems of eight lines, especially more creation of poems of eight lines inseven-character were preferably satisfied the needs of emotional expression. In addition, the plentifulusages of allusion and imagery selections on the surreal were also the new changes in his poems. Andbecause of career frustrated exhaustion, twilight poet’s great aspirations difficult to fulfill, misery andwandering around in his later years, life in poverty and loneliness with diseases, deeper appreciation andsorrow were deposited in the poet’s inner. Then, Using poetry to present these emotions,that is "depressionwith rhythm". While under the influence of Taoist thought, Du fu also gradually saw through the honor anddisgrace, gain and loss in official career. Coupled with the influence of natural beauty, his mentality wasalso gradually calmed and become broad-minded. and therefore his poetic style had a special "naturalmorbidezza".
