The culture of jade has a long history in China and the jade can find itsclue both in political, economic, ethical, and in philosophy, art, culture. Thejade contains colorful meanings suggested by the traditional Chinese culture.the paper made a comprehensive analysis on the culture back ground of jade,the theme of jade, the development of jade ware, and the relationship betweenjade and the master piece of classic literature The Story of the Stone, whichwas given a birth200years ago.This paper pretend to give a detailed expatiation on the representationof jade beauty, jade spirit, jade treasure and jade moral in the book; for thereason that the soul of The Story of the Stone is jade and the book is a masterpiece of classic literature about Chinese jade culture which will last for ever,the jade must be understood to readers, or else they would not get what theauthor dose want to express.This paper points out that in a time of cultural globalization, translatorsshould take a cultural perspective to study the implications of jade and jadeware so as to get an accurate interpretation of the jade imagery in it. Whentranslating the jade into English, most translators take foreignization as theleading strategy and domestication as the supplement, the translator ofThe Story of the Stone followed the strategy nether, in his translating the amount of jade much lose than the oriental, but the theme of the novelrepresent fluently, which is of great significance to the transmission of theclassical Chinese jade culture.Suffered twice serious destroys, the jade still stand in front of usindomitably, which march with the noble character of the Chinese people.Unfortunately that not less jade ware are not get due respect and protect,consequently, it is deadly necessary to study and spread the Chinese jade.
