Conversation Analysis About Debate Contest

Due to the conversation participants of the debate contest are more and in theprocess of the conversation, the participants want to meet different purposes, so theyneed use particular conversational strategies. In addition, the participants have theparticular purposes which are different from people speaking in daily life, therefore,this forms a particular form of conversation. To this problem, scholars have studiedfrom the other perspective, this thesis studied from the perspective of Pragmatics.First of all, this thesis studied from the static perspective. From the overallstructure and partial structure, this paper reveals the particularity of two aspects of thedebate competition conversation overall structure of beginning and ending part, andthe inequality and diversity of the word wheel transform, interruption, overlap,correction in the conversational structure.Secondly, this thesis studied from the static perspective. In this part we mainlystudied from the conversational role type and conversational role transition, in orderto reveal how the debate members use the conversational role transition to meet theneeds of the conversation purpose.Finally, this thesis used level type analysis method to study conversation strategyfrom the two aspects of question and answer strategy, in order to know whichconversation strategy debate members use when they want to meet a certainconversation purpose and the effect of debate members use the different conversationstrategy.
