The Rite Of Harvest Celebration And Culture Carnival

This thesis is mainly about the case of LaZha Festial in WangzigouVillage,LianLu Town,Kangle County,Lianhuashan,Gansu Province.With the previousresearch and surveys as the base,I myself also did some field work. Starting with therite description,which is done by very fewer former people,using the theories andmethods of folklore.I first systematically described the ritual process of Jump Lazhaby Fan People in the villages of Han people,which is also part of Lazha Festival,anddeeply annalysed and summarized its symbolic significance and cultural functions.This thesis is divided into nine parts,and they are introduction,five chapters,theories,references,appendices and etc.The first chapter is about the cultural context ofthe Lazha Festival.Starting with the three aspects of the natural geography, culture,history and folk culture of Lianhuashan, Kangle County,Gansu Province,I made abrief introduction of the background of how Lazha Festival was born.The secondchapter is mainly about the festival structure of the Lazha Festival.I made a genenalintroduction of the legend and the origin of the festival,the temporal and spatialdistribution of the main belief in gods,tissue composition of its operation,the clergyand the main activities of "Jump Lazha","Go through Lazha" and "Eat Lazha",andanalysed the reason for its time distribution in the marathon way.The third chapter isabout the main ritual process of "Jump Lazha"by Fan People in WangzigouVillage.Idescribed the sixteen ritual processes of Jump Lazha from fouraspects:preparation rite of Jump Lazha,asking for God rite of JumpLazha,thanksgiving rite of Jump Lazha,sending-off God rite of Lazha,and made adeep description chronologically.The fourth chapter is about the ritual symbolism ofJump Lazha.I mainly disscused the symbolism of such specific things assacrifices,money,flags,sheepskin drum,god clothing and Spring God’s families.Chapter five is about the functions of folk culture.From its connotation I explored thefolk cultural functions of interpretation and teaching,maintaining and identity, heritage and enlightenment,economy and consumption,entertainment and catharsis.I havetaked about the culture change of Lazha Festival in the additional part eventually.In conclusion,Lazha Festival is the carnival of Han and Tibetan withworshiping the Moutain God as its theme in the world,of which thanksgiving andentertaining God,celebrating harvest and interpersonal exchanges show people inLianhuashan want good weather,bumper harvest and harmonious society,but alsomeet the need of people to live a safe and peaceful life. By Lazha festival,we can seegeographically unique customs and the multi-ethnic cultural exchanges ofLianhuashan.There are about seventy thousand words in the thesis.
