Discussion On University Wayfinding System

Following the rapid development of our university, the competition are becoming more and more fierce and enxtending new campus. The wayfinding system as an indispensable part of university identified system,which is of importantce and significance for the promotion of University-Running ideas and show the school culture.Because of the theoretic research on the wayfinding system in China requires improvements,so there are a lot of problems in the wayfinding system of our university.such as weak of function,poor systematization,lack of characteristics of university, deficient in aesthetic architectural uniformity and irregular exist in designing wayfinding systems of university. And in this sense, Study on the wayfinding system in Chineses university is necessary and of great significance.In the contents,this paper studies on the wayfinding systems from the contrastive analysis between domestic and overseas and basic theory. Summarizes design features, design principles, advantages and disadvantages in design between each university. So This paper proposes some design principles which can make best use of the advantages and bypass the disadvantages, not only absorbs the advantages of design experience,but aslo establish preliminary recognition about the wayfinding system in university. In the methods, The thesis uses both the tools of positive analysis and innovative way to put forward the design principles about Integrate Function, artistic, culture and systematization. Through analysis on visual elements and stucture elements, Summarizes some design principles about wayfinding system’s colour,words,picture, daylight, moulding,material and handicraft and so on.It sets up the comparatively consummate theory system for the university wayfinding system. Then through the investigation and analysis on current situation of scientific and technological,Discussing and look forward to the uinversity wayfinding system in the future. Technical, science and technology is put forward Creativly.Hoping offer some reference and gist for the theoretic research in the future university wayfinding system.In the end, through investigation and analysis on environmental,campus,history, cultural features of Tianjin University of Science and Technology to practice the subject. In order to further validate the theory and emphasis it’s practical value and maneuverability.
