Mario Vargas Llosa, the Peruvian-Spanish writer, earned his reputation around theworld though his endless try of various writing structures, behind of whose writingacross an array of literary genres, leaped a heart enflamed which concerned thevulnerable groups in Latin world and the backward of his country. Brought up underdictatorship in Peru, Llosa hates the “malignant tumor” which disturbs the peace ofsociety. By virtue of his sharp insight, and with a hyperbolic, ironic tone, he goesstraight to the causes of social problems by reflecting the absurdity and theirrationality of living circumstances from the height of aesthetic view. It demonstratesthat he has a strong sense of responsibility as an outstanding writer and a bold pursuitfor an ideal society.First, he presents an absurd world encompassing the strange objective and theparadoxical subjective. The former includes two sides, one is that the state machine ishostile to human and the other is that there is a wide gap between people. The latteralso consists of two sides, that is, the alienation of characters and people’s uselessresist facing absurdity. Second, under an awareness of absurdity, he applies severalabsurdlized literary techniques, such as the deformation of the characters and the plot, the perversion of time and space and black humor to analyze the absurd reality, whichachieves the perfect combination between form and content, and strengthen the voiceof subject. Third, Llosa’s absurd consciousness ascribes to the influences of westernexistentialism, social conditions of Latin countries as well as his own life experience. In aesthetic terms, by means of defamiliarization, Llosa’s absurd consciousness notonly has an abnormal aesthetic spirit, but also a multi-level aesthetic significance anda realm of painful pleasure. It has a unique aesthetic value of art.
