The Cultural Study Of National And Folk Lacquer Arts In Northwest Yunnan

The studies on the national lacquer can be divided into two types, namely the longitudinal study and cross-sectional study. The range of the longitudinal study mainly include the generation, progress, development and changes of the lacquer, from which the development course of the national lacquer, as well as the difficulties in the development can be combed to figure out the solutions, while the cross-sectional study mainly targets at the generation and manufacturing condition of the lacquer in a certain period of time, through which, the development courses in different regions of the same period would be figured out. In this paper, the longitudinal study will dominate, while the cross-sectional study serves as the auxiliary.The national lacquer is the nature and foundation of the lacquer development history in the whole Yunnan region. Since the materials were not refined and the processing was not meticulous, the national lacquer was usually regarded as the’crude products’, which were not recognized and valued in a long time. In this paper, the national lacquer in the northwest district of Yunnan has been explored preliminarily on the basis of the unearthed lacquer in Dian Kingdom. The technological culture and national characteristics of the national lacquer in the northwest of Yunnan have been concluded and summarized through the historical records, the arrangement of the archaeological materials, field investigation of ethnology, as well as the studies on the unearthed objects. And the origin of the lacquer, the historical development and the peripheral cultural exchange in the northwest region of Yunnan has been summarized.This paper has been divided into six parts, namely the introduction, the development of the lacquer in northwest of Yunnan, the field investigation of the lacquer, the study on the national lacquer technological culture, the thought about the development of national lacquer in northwest region of Yunnan, and the conclusion.The research significance, the research history, research status, research thought and method for the lacquer in Yunnan have been illustrated in the introduction part.In the first part, the region and characteristics of the lacquer studied in this paper have been defined. According to the historical records, the development and changes of the lacquer in northwest region of Yunnan have been combed, and several lacquers handed down from the ancient times have been analyzed.In the second part, the feedbacks for the field investigation about the lacquer in northwest region of the Yunnan have been illustrated. The distribution and characteristics of the lacquer in the northwest region of Yunnan have been found out through the collection of the first-hand materials, and creation conditions and production form of the national lacquer in northwest region of Yunnan have been analyzed.In the third part, the lacquer craft in the northwest region of Yunnan has been studied. Attention has been paid to the data collection in Chuxiong region, Dali region, Lijiang region and Diqing region, and the current situation of the national lacquer in northwest region of Yunnan has been analyzed.In the fourth part, there are several thoughts about the development of national lacquer in northwest nation in Yunnan.The conclusion part summarizes the major contents in this paper.
