At present, our country advocates quality education require students to do thequality of development, with the development of modern computer informationtechnology and people’s spiritual and aesthetic ability, in the University’s teachingpeople have gradually realized the important role of music education in the qualityeducation of College students. Moreover, the current music education, many collegesand universities attached great importance to the development of Chinese traditionalinstrumental music and education, which has three thousand years history of traditionalinstrumental music guzheng in national instrumental music teaching in China must alsooccupy the position. However, found that cultivating throughout our engineering collegestudents about music quality education, College of engineering students in thepopularity of music education degree and strength is not enough, a lot of students inengineering colleges music quality was generally low. Therefore, at this stage how tomake engineering colleges in line with the characteristics of music course in Colleges ofengineering, but also beneficial to the promotion of art and engineering college studentsquality education development become high quality talents, cultivating modernengineering colleges to enhance the quality of school education reform is the mosturgent task. Therefore, the engineering college students on the guzheng Chinesenational instrumental music cognition as the research object, and mainly in the HarbinInstitute of Technology Zheng music elective course as the research object, analysis ofcognition of traditional instrumental music at the present stage of our country college ofengineering.This paper first carries on the research background and research significance,relevant research history review. Secondly, this paper explained the engineering collegesguzheng not music quality education to students learning foundation is weak, not strongquestion, and analyzes the necessity of music quality education in the College ofengineering. Third, by Harbin Engineering University guzheng class as an example, toexplore traditional Chinese instrumental music opened the course in the engineeringcollege curriculum and course into the problem. Fourth, the national instrumental musiccourses in Colleges of engineering countermeasures, pointing out that the traditional Chinese instrumental music teaching can help students nonprofessional collegeprofessional learning, improve the ability of innovation, the school leaders and teachersshould keep pace with the times to follow the pace of development of the times, topromote music education in Colleges of engineering construction, and strive to cultivateengineering college students’ humane accomplishment.
