China's ethnic instrumental music plays a very important role in China's traditional music culture. Since the 20th century, the focus of learning for advanced teachers has been on Germany, United States of America and Russia, which has in turn neglected education in our traditional music, placing ethnic instrumental education in a secondary position and has resulted in the severe disorganization in the structure and content of the ethnic instrumental music education making it lagging behind. With the spread and promotion of ideas such as cultural diversity in the new century, our ancient musical instruments now welcome new development opportunities while at the same time, facing various challenges. Thus, it is of practical significance for China's music education to re-implement ethnic instrumental music courses for advanced teachers' colleges, which prepare music teachers for elementary schools, in order to spread and promote China's music culture. Only when the re-implementation of Chinese ethnic instrumental lessons for the advanced teachers is based on reasonable adaptation of reforms in international music education and accurately understanding the direction of development in our national elementary music education, can it be a social activity with a future and development. It is inseparable from a multi-cultural vision, a break from the pattern centered on western music, reconstruction of the view on ethnic music, an adoption of a broad perspective, optimized lesson designs, renewal of the basic knowledge, establishment of dialogue between teachers and students and a new system of evaluation. Accompanied by fully encouraging subject awareness in students to create a mutual learning environment, it can truly achieve the goal of training qualified music teachers in advanced colleges and to spread and promoteethnic instrumental music in primary and secondary schools, colleges and the entire society.
