The researches focusing on the folk religious, folk faith and the secretreligion might originate in1980s, however these phenomenon have a history of aboutseveral thousand years. The folk religious profoundly reflects the cultures and the lifeof the laboring people in lower class of Chinese society and forms an essential part ofthe researches on religious history. The present paperdraws heavily on material presented in the Shengshui temple located at Lian HuaMountain in Hu Ludao city, Liao Ning province and focuses on the culturalphenomenon existing in the region. Especially, the present paper focuses on a folkreligious named Confucianism Doomsday Cult which actives in the region mentionedabove.After taking a amount of research grounded on the temples located in townshipand a amount of research on the present situation existing in the religious, somefeatures having regularity is discovered. The disclosure of the present paper not onlyreflects the culture in lower class but also provides a platform for practicing therelevant theories. At the same time, the present paper makes an attempt to providesome practical suggestion based on the problems which is discovered in the research.The present paper has four sections. Wherein Section I aims on the analysis ofthe definition of the folk religious and the definition of the folk faith theoretically.Section II aims on the profile of the folk religious and the reasons of the prosperity ofthe folk religious in Liao Ning province. Section III aims on the Shengshui templelocated at Lian Hua Mountain in the directions of history of the temple, thearchitectural style and the folk culture, for inspecting the folk religious in this region,based on the primary documents collected from the temple. And Section IV aims onthe re–exploration and the reconsideration of the fold religious based on the research,and studies the role of the folk religious in the construction of spiritual civilization forbuilding a new socialist countryside.
