The Modern Inheritance Of Folk Legends Research Under The Perspective Of Non-material Cultural Heritage

In the area of Nan tianchi and Niu langyu, Heshun County, Shanxi Province, the culture of Cowherd and Weaving Maiden has been deeply integrated into the production, life and spiritual faith of the common people, which also become the unique local characteristical cultural traditions. However, with the modernization and the globalization, the transformation of the society is inevitable, the traditional production and the environment manner of the people has changed a lot which lead to the different context and way of folk legend inheritance. The national cultural heritage of China is facing strict challenges. How to protect and inherit the legend in a better way is the huge problem we are facing.The paper is divided into six parts, which contains introduction, body chapters and conclusion. The introduction is the purpose and meanings of the topic, research status and related concepts defined, data sources and research methods reviewed; The chapter one states the cultural context and changes of the modern inheritance of folk legend, also with the overview of Cowherd and Weaving Maiden legend in Heshun; The chapter two shows the localized performance and the inheritance of different circulating places of Cowherd and Weaving Maiden legend,discussing the inheritance of the legend in a free style; The chapter three is the local intellectuals’interview, discussing the role of local intellectuals’re-creation in modern inheritance of Cowherd and Weaving Maiden legend; The chapter four, the author discusses the activities undertaken by the government for advocacy and protection of Cowherd and Weaving Maiden legend and creation of local culture brand, the thematic style inheritance advocated by the Government,which enhances the local cultural identity of the people and greatly promotes the Cowherd and Weaving Maiden legend in modern cultural context; The conclusion is the summarizes about the initiatives of civil society, local intellectuals and the official of the Government and the impact of modern inheritance of Cowherd and Weaving Maiden legend. The studying object of the research is the Cowherd and Weaving Maiden legend in Heshun and the survey through the localized performance and inheritance and the different attitudes and actives of local people and governmental leaders in the protection and inheritance, to discover the modern inheriting methods. The survey also make a research about the interactions of different society roles to affect the traditional legend inheritance which can draw a conclusion to the study of the three levels in cultural inheritance system of the folk legend that beyond the context of intangible cultural heritage protection.
