Application Of Calligraphy In Sports Icon Design

Chinese character, as one of the most important carriers of traditional Chinese culture, as well as the indispensable element of design, graphic characters derived therefrom have become rich resources of visual images.In this paper, it is mainly discussing based on the design of sports icons into Chinese calligraphy pictographic charm and aesthetic connotation, through analyzing some of the domestic and international Olympic icon designs, and then summed up the sport icon design in particular the inherent requirements and national aesthetic. Based on this, the paper focuses on the design of the traditional calligraphy as a means of further discussion, demonstrating the feasibility of applying calligraphy in sport icon design, to fully tap the rich aesthetic of calligraphy, preliminary design a group of sports icons with a strong Seal characteristic and sports typical dynamic.
