The Lack Of Trust And Reconstruction In China Modern Society

Albeit not a new problem, the trust issue remains to be a social problem of distinctive historicalcharacteristics. Nowadays, the lack of trust in society has led to a serial of social phenomena, such as thewaste of resources, cultural fracture and psychosocial instability. The worsening credit status of individualsis rising as a huge obstacle to social stability and economic development. Therefore, it is an urgent task toanalyze the causes of the lack of trust, then to find effective countermeasures, and finally to build trustmechanism within the context of social transformation and from the perspective of social philosophy.The first part, proceeding from the basic theoretical knowledge associated with the trust, analyzes theconcept and role of trust, investigates the background and characteristics of contemporary researches onthis topic, and then explorers social environment and impact caused by the trust issue. The analysis isconducted at two levels, i.e. the theoretical knowledge and social reality, which extended to the researchstatus at home and abroad trust issues. Besides, the thesis focuses on the similarities and differencesbetween the trust nourished by virtue and education and that ensured by contacts and institutions, i.e. theinteraction between the contracts and institutional trust based upon communication convention, whichenables people to form groups, and groups to act together relying on moral and educational trust betweenfamily members and friends.The second part focuses on the reason of various manifestations of lack of trust under modernconditions. The trust issue in society as a whole exposes the defects and short board arisen in thetransitional stage from pre-modern society to modern society, and reflects the hidden social problem, thedestruction of a normal social life caused by the lack of trust, and the underlying causes. By analyzing theroot cause of trust issue and elaborating its manifestation and harmful effects, the thesis analyzes the twolevels horizontally, i.e.(i) the transition of the social system and cultural fracture;(ii) supervisorymechanism and moral restraint; it also analyzes vertically the effects of the five factors, i.e. interpersonalrelationship, politics, economy, culture, and society, on the root cause of the lack of trust. Then the thesismakes a detailed explanation, which can offer suggestions for the third part and lay a theoretical foundationfor the solution of the lack of trust in nowadays society. After analyzing the existence of trust issue and its root causes, the thesis explores the problem of howto solve the trust issue in the third part, i.e. the ways and means of building trust mechanism in the modernsocial context. In terms of value orientation, it should be perfected theoretically, finished in practice, andbased on the national conditions of building a moderately prosperous society. It should also be proceedfrom the social system, governmental action, and moral values, which are suitable for China’s nationalconditions, to create a good life environment of trust for each citizen.
