Interpersonal trust is one of the essential factors in a good relationship. It is thebasic of interaction between people. With trust, people can cooperate pleasantly, ateam even the whole society can be harmonious and stable. In recent years,interpersonal trust has become the research focus in sociology, psychology and manyother areas of research. Using stratified sampling, we selected505college studentsfrom two colleges in Beijing to investigate their interpersonal trust. By screeningsubjects, we measured college students’ trust behavior using trust game, and thenfurther investigated the influence of interpersonal trust anticipation and type ofinterpersonal relationship on trust behavior.The current study included two main parts. The first part is questionnairemeasurement: Measure the college students’ Specific trust and General trustseparately by using Specific Trust Scale and General Trust Scale. The second part isexperimental study: Screen out the high trust and low trust subjects according to theresults in the first part. Then investigate the influence of interpersonal trustanticipation, type of interpersonal relationship and situations on trust behavior. Theresults of the current study show that:1. The interpersonal trust (including Specific trust and General trust) of collegestudents is above the middle level slightly. No significant difference has been found ingender, grade and single or not, but in district. Urban students’ interpersonal trustanticipation is higher than rural students’. There is remarkable difference in whetherbeing student-leader of college students’ general trust, student-leader’s general trust ismuch higher. There is no difference in whether being student-leader of collegestudents’ Specific trust.2.College students’ trust behavior has no difference between the high and lowlevel of interpersonal trust anticipation. General trust anticipation has little effect ontrust behavior, while the specific trust anticipation has extremely significant effect onit. The one who has higher specific trust anticipation will has more trust behavior.3. Type of Interpersonal relationship has remarkable effect on trust behavior. Thetrust behavior toward good friends is higher than that toward classmates, while trust behavior toward strangers is the lowest.4. The interaction among specific trust and type of Interpersonal relationship issignificant. When the relationship between each other is closer, the effect of specifictrust on trust behavior is more significant, The higher the specific trust is,there willbe more trust behavior.
