Textual Research On "Ciwai"

Based on "Ciwai"(此外)as the research object, this thesis makes a comprehensive investigation on the features and performance of "Ciwai "in semantic, structure, textual and pragmatic combined with the facts of CCL modern Chinese corpus. This thesis mainly includes five parts:Part one is the introduction section. It simply introduces the origin, the object, the idea, the theories and so on. It also makes a brief review of the related research status.Part two, according to the basic grammatical meaning and logical meaning of "Ciwai", we have concluded its semantic feature. On the basis of above analysis, we have divided the text of "Ciwai"(the larger linguistic unit which is formed by "Ciwai" and its before&after linguistic units) into "the beside text" and "the except text". And then we have studied the semantic relations between the before and after units of "Cfwai "in these two different kinds of text.Part three, from the syntactic point of view,"Ciwai" always connects clauses to make up sentences, connects sentences to make up sentence groups, and connects paragraphs to make texts. From the perspective of text, we have analyzed the structure relations and information structure models of "Cfwai" text. And we argue that "Cfwai "can be regarded as an end marker to show that the contents of "Ciwai "text has. been finished.Part four, we have studied the position, the cohesive devices and the concealing of "Ciwai"in a text."Ciwai" locates before the last textual unit, and it is just the position that provides its evolution into the textual tag. Its co-occurrence with a variety of other cohesive devices strengthens the cohesion of textual units before and after "Cfwai", enriches the forms of discourse expression. Its concealing law also reflects the coherence function of "Ciwai".Part five,"Ciwai" has highlighted function, end marker function, quasi dialogue function and the function to change the subject. It helps readers/listeners to grasp the information of the text more easily, and also plays an important role in enhance the communicative effect of the utterance.
