Research On Dramaticism Of Schnittke’s Concerto Grosso No.1

Alfred Schnittke,a well-known Soviet-Russian modernistic composer.Concerto Grosso No.1as a polystylistic work composed in1976-77exerts vivid dramatic features,so it was named "Instrumental Theatre" by Valentina Kholopova.In order to reveal the instrumental theatrical potential.the philosophical concept and spiritual border of Schnittke and the artistic connotation of this work and understand its significance in the20th century,this dissertation,based on "Thespian Logic Model" in the theory of drama,explores the dramatic features of instrumental music("Character"and"its relationships"),stylistic theme("Situation-Events"),musical language movement("Action"),antagonism of the instrumental music("Conflict"),and genre and structure("Situation-Specific Space-time Environment") of this work, consulting the concept of drama implied by Schnittke.The dissertation is divided into four chapters.studying basic content of drama and dramaticism,Schnittke’s survival context and concept of drama,context for composition on Concerto Grosso No.l and musical forms.Chapter One pays attention to drama(containing dramatic ingredients)and dramaticism basic connotation,subsistent context of Schnittke and Concerto Grosso No.1;Chapter two.for the observation point to "Character Meet with Events", interprets characterization of instruments and thematic symbolization;Chapter three discusses the building process of conflicts of instrumental music.and development of musical languge movement,which focus on "Conflict into Action";Chapter four elaborates on restrictive functions of Specific Space-time Environment by means of structure and genre of this work.
