Song Ci and Tang Shi are two artistic achievements in the history of literature, which are the gem of Chinese literature. The Cz-poems composed by Su Shi in Song Dynasty are treasured for their outstanding artistic achievements and distinctive individual features. This literature heritage has aroused increasing interest among renowned scholars from home and abroad, such as Ren Zhiji, Lin Yutang, Xu Yuanchong and Yang Xianyi who have made enormous efforts to introduce Su Shi’s Ci-poems into the English-speaking world.Gadamer’s hermeneutics, as well as his points of view,"Prejudice","pre-understanding","historicity of understanding"," fusion of horizons" and "the history of effect", these factors play a very important guiding role in the translation process for the subject especially translators. The application of this theory breaks former certain criteria in the field of translation, namely the original meaning of the author was regarded as a fundamental factor. Hermeneutics makes a reasonable explanation for these phenomena which are usually showed in translation activities, for example, misunderstanding, multiple versions, diversity of explanations, the openness of text meaning. But how do we know which one is the best when we face different versions? Is there an objective standard to measure, or each person takes what he needs and has ultimate freedom in interpretation of text? Obviously it is not. In this paper, it uses hermeneutics to analyze English versions of Su Ci. And in the process of analysis, it adds the intention of the author and the context meaning which displayed at that time. Thus in this way, the paper try to find a more reasonable and objective interpretation and more profound understanding and recognition of Gadamer’s Hermeneutics. The article is divided into six parts. Through the analysis of different versions, the results are:1. Hermeneutics plays an important role in translation of Su ci. Its essence--"the openness of the text meaning" makes the translator to maximize his/her subjectivity, because of this, readers can appreciate different and rich translation versions.2. During the process of translation activities under the guidance of Hermeneutics theory, translators should also make a full consideration of intention of the author and text meaning at its historic background. This kind of interpretation is not only more objective, but also avoid the maximum excessive interpretation.3. By comparing different versions of Su ci, Yang Xianyi, Xu Yuanchong’s translation are better than others. Their versions, based on the full understanding and grasp of the original works, no matter considering from the choice of words, rhythm and the expression of whole mood and image, represent a good fusion with the original works in a large extent.According to the research results, the author tries to put forward some suggestions:in translation activities of poetry, translators will create better versions only basing on the author’s intention; When we use interdisciplinary theory to guide our translation practices, we should always maintain a cautious attitude.
