A Reflective Research Report On The Translation Of All Nights In The World

This thesis is mainly based on the translation and introspection of the first threechapters of All Nights in the World, written by contemporary Chinese writer ChiZijian. It portrays some common problems, related translating strategies and methodsin literature translation and it will be beneficial to the development of literaturetranslation in a certain degree.Besides the introduction and conclusion, this thesis mainly has three parts. Thesecond part is an introduction to the writer and the novelette All Nights in the World,which is necessary for me to translate the work and for readers to better understandthe translation. The third chapter is a summary of the difficulties I met with during mytranslation and my solutions, together with some translation theories and strategies Iadopted during the translating process. The forth chapter is the major part and subject.Based on the translation, I made general analysis about translation strategies. By thisthesis, I sincerely appeal more and more translators and English learners to translateChinese literary works and make contributions to spread Chinese literature andculture to the world.
