Peasant Paintings is a kind of folk art and also a kind of social phenomenon. Inaddition, as a kind of social cultural resources, Peasant Paintings has caused theattention of scholars, and gradually enters the tourism market with distinct regionalcharacteristics, colorful style types and special cultural connotation. Rizhao PeasantPaintings has become a gorgeous flower of the folk paints in gardens beause of itsrich and full composition, rustic and bright color, naive and straightforward techniqueand distinctive geographical features. Rizhao Peasant Paintings has also become abeautiful business card of Rizhao culture brand. Of course, in the process of RizhaoPeasant Paintings’ development,there are still many problems. How to makereasonable use of Rizhao Peasant Painting resource and conduct resourcedevelopment is an important topic which needs an urgent research.On the theory basis of authentieity, anthropology, sociology and folklore theory,taking Rizhao Peasant Paintings as the research object, adopting the method of thetheory combining with the practice, centering authenticity and commercia lization aswell as the relations between the two, the paper discusses the following questiongs.Fisrt of all, summarizes the research status of authenticity theory at home and abroad,classifies the related research of Peasant Paintings;analyzes the development situationof Rizhao peasant paintings, makes a detailed comb of the course of developme nt ofRizhao peasant paintings,describes the present situation of Rizhao tourismdevelopment,and the impact analysis of tourism to Rizhao peasant paintings.Second ly,through informal interviews and participant observation,collects firsthand informationof Rizhao Peasant Paintings for production, makes deep analysis of authenticityelements under the perspective of the farmers, dissertates the creation process ofRizhao Peasant Paintings in detail through material accumulation, design conceptionand composition.Thirdly,with a case study of Rizhao painting embroidery,empiricallyanalyzes the relationship between authenticity and commercialization,and analyzesthe inevitability and necessity of the commercialization of Rizhao Peasant Paintings. Finally, according to the above analysis of the authenticity and commercialization andtheir relationships, this paper attempts to draw the following conclusion and thinking:sport is an important characteristic of Rizhao Peasant Paintings’s authenticity;commercialization is the road Rizhao Peasant Paintings’s development must follow;the paper put forward two suggestions: developing tourism handicraft of RizhaoPeasant Paintings, playing the role of government macro-guidance.
