The globalization of English inevitably results in its nativization or localization and gives rise to various "English varieties" and "World Englishes". China English as a new variety in World Englishes is attracting many scholars’interest both at home and abroad. It is a result of long contact of English language with Chinese culture. And it is greatly influenced by Chinese culture, the thinking patterns of Chinese people.Language as a most important communication tool of human beings reflects thinking patterns and concepts of mankind. It is the carrier of culture. So the study of language cannot be separated from culture. This thesis aims to explore the internal reasons for forming the lexical, syntactic and discourse characteristics of China English from the perspective of the relationship between language and thought by comparative study and example study. The study mostly uses description and explanation.By studying five typical Chinese thinking patterns, and comparing some phenomena of China English with Normative English, it is found that China English is influenced by Chinese thinking patterns. On lexical level there are more concrete nouns in China English, and there is a partiality for verbs in China English. And on syntactic level of China English, the subject of a sentence is man in many cases, and first person plural form is often used to express views or opinions. In addition, China English is a paratactic language. And the sequence of sentences also has special characteristics. On discourse level, China English follows circular structure, particular-general and reader-responsible pattern, and the transitional words or phrases are less used. Finally, the author states the objective existence of China English, and some implications for English teaching and learning are provided. It is expected to provoke more interests in China English and have some significance to the teaching and learning of the English language in China.
