Chinese tourism industry developed rapidly during the last decade. It contributed alot to Chinese economic development. The mysterious oriental culture, the rich naturalresources, kinds of fine food and wine show the world the glamour of China and attractmany foreigners to consume in China. It makes the importance of tourism culturetranslation widely acknowledged. The advanced requirement was also presented on theaccuracy of the tourism culture translation and the systematic study of the subject.Culture is the essence of tourism. It will analyze the classification of tourismculture translation and put forward the proper translation principles and strategies basedon their respective purpose and functions. And the theoretical guidance of the German functionalism towards C-E tourism culture translation is studied comprehensively. Therelated translation strategies which were once mentioned in the previous papers areintegrated here on the level of word, sentence and text. The author holds that Germanfunctionalism will provide effective theoretical guidance for the systematic study oftourism culture translation. More scholars are expected to apply German functionalismto the practical translation, especially the practice of tourism translation, to developChinese tourism industry and promote Chinese culture in the world.
