Chopin was one of the most famous musicians during the Romantic Period, aswell as the icon of the piano history. No matter in composing or acting, Chopin was aimmortal monument in the history of piano art. Chopin had devoted all his life topiano art, what’s more, his works almost covered all genres. He played an importantrole in creating new genre of piano musical work.Scherzo was a music genre in the Renaissance Period, which originated in the17th century in Italy. Scherzo had experienced several important stages during thedevelopment, which were initial stage, exploring stage, diversifying stage. Finally, itbecame an individual genre that represented in music stage in the Romantic Period byChopin, who promoted scherzo separated creatively, making it a witty, dramatic, andluxuriant fusion of instrumental genre.During his life, Chopin had created four scherzos, and each one was a classicmasterpiece that had a profound impact on later musicians. Chopin was one of thefamous melody masters in the history of music. Melody was one of the major means ofmusic performance in the creation of scherzo. In this article, the author will takeChopin’s four scherzos as research object, analyzing and researching on it from theperspective of melody creation. Through these specific researches to improve theunderstanding and comprehension of Chopin’s scherzos, in order to play better.First of all, the article starts from Chopin’s scherzos genre as the breakthroughpoint, it introduces the development of scherzo from17th century to Romantic Period.Secondly, this article analyzes scherzo’s melody forms in aspects of the melodyline, interval tension, and development tactics via a large number of examples, and onthe basis of these analyses, the article describes melody’s witty, dramatic, andluxuriant connotation.Finally, from the perspective of specific play,the author puts forward suggestionsin processing scherzo melody line, shaping timbre and how to using the pedal.
