At present,China is in a critical period of social transformation.The cultural self-confidence advocated by General Secretary Xi Jinping is the most powerful internal driving force for film creators.When the main melody film began to occupy the film market,when the mainstream ideology began to blend perfectly with the market,,when films like "Wolf Warrior" series of films,"Red Sea","Operation Mekong","Wandering Earth","The Last Kilometer" and other movies started to get good reviews and hit new records at the box office,we should explore and think.Chinese thematic films begin to move towards a new historical period.From content to production,it is undoubtedly not to let more audiences accept and love,let more Investors are favored and joined,standing on the stage of the world,starting to make a stronger Chinese voice,telling the great story of Chinese heroes,and writing a new chapter in the history of Chinese film history.This paper selects some films with relatively high word-of-mouth and box office of theme films after 2016.It uses literature research method,text analysis method,case analysis method and other methods to study the historical evolution,the innovation background,the content innovation and the formal innovation of the main melody film in four chapters.At the same time,it contains the bottleneck problems and Suggestions of the theme film in the innovation period.Since 2016,the main melody film has begun to accumulate in the form of breaking through the market and winning the box office,and has continued to succeed.Why the main melody film has achieved such excellent market results in the current era is the core of this paper.In order to better let the main melody film innovation not stick to the stereotypical dilemma,this paper suggests that the theme film should be innovated and explored in the future,from the aspects of improving the closeness of the topic selection,improving the audience’s trust,and increasing the persuasiveness of the theme film itself.Strive to effectively help the continuous development of the theme film innovation.It is hoped that the future theme films will combine the promotion of values with the telling of Chinese stories,so as to make the path of theme film innovation broader.This paper analyzes the reasons for the new historical high of thematic films,and makes a gradual analysis from the perspectives of content innovation,form innovation,character image transformation and technological means transformation,so as to obtain the change and significance of innovation.The research on the innovation of the main melody film will bring more thoughts and progress to more creators,and it should be summarized in the process of innovation,in order to lay a solid foundation for the creation of a better main melody work.
