Chinese dialects adverb has been the weak link of the Chinese Adverb study according to theChinese dialects research situation. Based on Shaoxing dialect of the language facts, this papersums up the relatively complete system of Shaoxing dialect modal adverbs. According to thesemantic standard it was divided into four types:Inference, will, emotional, evaluation. And then,from the semantic, syntactic and pragmatic three aspects, we analyzed and discussed these19special Shaoxing dialect modal adverbs. The purpose is to explore the basic situation of Shaoxingdialect modal adverb and characteristics.In this paper, by using the combined method of synchronic study with diachronic exploration, wemade a bold speculation on its historical roots, made a comparative analysis with the mandarinand other dialects, aims to further study in Shaoxing dialect modal adverbs.The article is divided into six parts.The first part: The introduction part. We describe the purpose and significance of this topic. Thenwe introduce the present research of modal adverbs in contemporary Chinese language, Shaoxingdialect research status, and other regional dialects modal adverb research status. Finally elaboratethis article research theory and research method.The second part: Summary of adverbs in Shaoxing dialect. Make a simple summary and definitionof the Shaoxing dialect of the adverb system. Then summarize the five characteristics of adverbsin Shaoxing dialect.The third part: Shaoxing dialect modal adverb classification and grammatical characteristics.According to the semantic characteristics, the Shaoxing dialect modal adverb divides into smallsubclass. Second, describe these subclasses and analyzes the syntactic and pragmatic features.Third, sum up the characters of these subclasses.The fourth part: Shaoxing dialect modal adverb’s collocation and co-occurrence. This part focuseson analyzing all kinds of adverb’s collocation and co-occurrence, mainly from collocation andco-occurrence with other adverbs, with other modal adverbs.The fifth part: Analysis of “four syllable” modal adverb in Shaoxing dialect. By using thecombined method of synchronic study with diachronic exploration, the modal adverbs from syntax,semantics, pragmatics, its source of evolution, and the comparison this five aspects have beenanalysed.Sixth part: Conclusion. Reviewed the main content of this article, lists several innovative points ofthis paper, and discuss the paper’s shortcomings and future research directions.
