The Research On Compatibility Mode Of Contradictory Modaladverbs

Modal adverb is the word that expresses the subjective attitude,evaluation and emotion of the speaker in the position of adverbial,which is a kind of complicated function and usage in modern Chinese adverb.At present,there is a large number of contradictory modal adverbs that are compatible with each other.This article selects the compatibility mode of contradictory modal adverb as the research object,through the cognitive linguistics,semantics,pragmatics,and other methods to explore the compatibility mode,characteristics and function,and drivers.This article is divided into the following six parts:The first part,make a research on previous achievements on modal adverb and reclassify modal adverbs.The second part,describe the compatibility mode of“???”and“???”in detail and discuss the features and functions of the pattern.The features and functions are:first,the number of"???+???"is much more.Second,the modal adverb has the expression function and cohesion function.Thirdly,the model has the function of weakening and strengthening.The third part,describe the compatibility mode of“???”and“???”in detail and discuss the features and functions of the pattern.The features and functions are:first,the number of"???+???"is much larger.Second,the modal adverb has the expression function and cohesion function.Third,the model expresses the speaker's euphemistic conviction and enhanced speculation.Fourthly,the pattern expresses the belief and doubt of the speaker.The fourth part,describe the compatibility mode of“???”and“????”in detail and discuss the features and functions of the pattern.We come to the conclusion that:first,the number of“????+???"in this mode is much larger.Second,the modal adverb in this model is mainly characterized by expressive function.Third,the model expresses compound expectations.Fourth,the modal adverb compatibility has dual preset triggering function.Fifth,This pattern is basedon continuous use.The fifth part reveals hierarchy of the compatibility mode.Compatible hierarchies include surface and deep layers.The surface layer consists of parallel hierarchy and nested hierarchy,and the deep layer is the semantic nesting hierarchy.The deep level can explain the compatibility of contradictory modal adverbs.The sixth part,the motivation and reasons of compatibility mode are: the need of discourse cohesion,the restriction of the politeness principle,the consideration of different views and expectations,subjectivity and interactive control.
