Since the new century, with the gradual penetration of development of life of themass culture and consumer culture, teleplay art shows unprecedented prosperoussituation. The legionary teleplays have changed a lot obviously, especially meetingthe sixtieth anniversary of the PRC founding and the ninetieth anniversary of theCPC founding, the legionary teleplays have come to a new period. The new centurylegionary teleplays are no longer simply pursue the revolutionary hero with the helpof heroism, collectivism and idealistic. The vision has been broader, and the creationof the serviceman image doesn’t pursue perfection any more. Through showing theaudience a series of a nobody, an ordinary story and some details, they transmit morededicate and sincere emotion and more realistic and appropriate fresh image.In this thesis, the study on legionary teleplays is based on these changes. Theauthor chooses some legionary teleplays which have won “Flying Award” as studysamples. The first part is an overview of the legionary teleplays. In order tosummarizes the corresponding rules, this thesis sorts out the history of the history,development and changes of the serviceman image in legionary teleplays. In thesecond part, based on the study of the typical contemporary serviceman image in thelegionary teleplays, the author analyzes the external and internal image ofcontemporary servicemen in teleplay representation concretely, and uses charts toshow the specific situation of the serviceman image in the selected samples. Thisthesis summarizes and concludes many specific characteristics of the contemporaryserviceman in the teleplays. In the third part, the author discusses the typical imageof contemporary male serviceman detailedly, using semiotics theory, and find outthat hegemonic masculinity of a male serviceman is displayed through bodynarrative. In the fourth part, the study object changes into female serviceman in thelegionary teleplays. The author analyzes how they show charm as foil in thelegionary teleplays. In the end, the author summarizes some problems existing in thecreation of the legionary teleplays, and puts forward own opinions according to thecorresponding trend of creation of the legionary teleplays.
