A Translation Project Report On Sustainability In Interior Design (P90-P106, P154-P177)

With the increase of foreign economic and cultural exchanges, the types of translationhave become more diversified and have involved more and more industries. This reportanalyzes the translation project of Sustainability in Interior Design. The source text of thisproject is a primer of interior design.Interior design has recently become a major branch in the construction industry. Thepurpose of this project is to translate the English textbook Sustainability in Interior Designinto Chinese. Its main readers are teachers and students of interior design in China scolleges and universities. The intention is to help them learn how to plan the interior spacereasonably, and to decorate the interior economically and environmental friendly.The project was completed by a small team of three people including the author. Theauthor translated10,000words of this book from page90to page106and page154to177.The whole translation took10days. After the translation practice, the author analyzes theoriginal text and the translation, discovered characteristics of the text and the problemsneeding attention in the translation of such texts. By summarizing, the author hopes toprovide advice and reference for future work.The author thinks that as a translator, one can only constantly improve himself andconvey information accurately and correctly to the readers by unceasing practice andsummarizing with a serious and responsible attitude.
