Practice Study Report On E-C Translation Of Computers And Translation: A Translator's Guide(Excerpts)

This report attempts to discuss,reflect and summarize technical translation on the basis of Computers and Translation: A Translator's Guide(Chapter Eight)written by Professor Harold Somers under the theoretical guidance of Skopos Theory,the author is expecting to provide a reference for later translators who may translate technical texts.The first part of the translation practice report is the overall introduction to the Computers and Translation: A Translator's Guide(Chapter Eight).The second part is the description of the translation process.Then comes to behavior research of the Computers and Translation: A Translator's Guide(Chapter Eight),focusing on the summary of Skopos theory and its application.The last part is case analysis,it is the key section to the translation practice report section at the same time,including under the using of the guidance of skopos theory and method of text translation of science and technology in lexical,syntactical and discourse level translation in the specific application,to sum up translation methods and strategies used in the translation of the Computers and Translation: A Translator's Guide(Chapter Eight)There are three research methods used in the practice report,literature research,interdisciplinary research and case study.When translate a tech text,the translator should first determine the different purposes of all kinds of text of science and technology,follow the principle of consistency principle,the principle of faithfulness and loyalty to use transformation of parts of speech,increase or decrease in the content of text,Only in this way,can we improve the translation quality and achieve the goal of cultural communication.
