Human happiness is the ancient philosopher concerned problem, which is allserious philosophy’s ultimate care for human. Happiness is directly related to people’squality of life and affects social development and stability. Comparative analysis of thedevelopment process of Chinese and Western concept of happiness helps to reveal thenature and law of the concept of happiness; Research and guide the contemporary viewof happiness, is conducive to building a harmonious society.Standing in the position of historical materialism, Marx had abandoned thetraditional concept of happiness. Marx established practice-based scientific concept ofhappiness, from a philosophical perspective clarifies the concept of happinesssubjectivity and objectivity, truth and illusion, absolute and relative, to achievehappiness issues in material life and spiritual life, personal happiness and socialwell-being, human nature and human happiness high degree of unity. However, incontemporary society, with the development of science and technology, socialproductivity greatly improved, material resources unprecedented prosperity, butpeople’s happiness index has not increased.
