Zhou Laixiang is the famous esthetician, literary theorist in the contemporary. He founded the Harmonious Aesthetics, which inherits the spirit of Chinese traditional culture, and absorbs the strength of Western aesthetics. Professor Zhou used modern dialectical thinking, and other methods of the natural sciences. The harmony is his theory’s core, which consists of Methodology, System Theory, Essentialism, Aesthetic History, Comparative Aesthetics and so on. This is a diversity and openness aesthetics system. After Professor Zhou’s efforts, Harmonious Aesthetics keeps growing, and now it has become an important genre.The theory’s content is very comprehensive, and its spirit is very deep. Chinese Traditional Aesthetics is an important branch in the research field of Harmonious Aesthetics, which shows a distinctive national character. While, due to age, environment and other factors, the Harmonious Aesthetics also has theoretical limitations. This paper tries to research, revaluate and reflect on Professor Zhou’s Traditional Harmonious Aesthetics. It’s mainly include "To Study and Reflect the Spirit of the Traditional Cultural Harmony","the Study of the Ancient Ugly ", and "the Influence of Chinese Classical Harmonious Aesthetics and the Establishment of a Contemporary Aesthetics".Through studying his evaluation of traditional Chinese aesthetics, and thinking on Harmonious Aesthetics, in order to further grasp the theoretical value of the harmonious aesthetics.The first part sorts out and introduces the ZhongHe (中å'Œ) which is summed up by Zhou Laixiang. The paper analyzes the ZhongHe of traditional aesthetics, points out the innovation of Zhou’s theory and its practical significance. Besides, the researcher tries to revaluate and reflect on Professor Zhou’ Traditional Harmonious Aesthetics, in order to understand and grasp of harmonious aesthetic culture of ancient China.The second part researches Professor Zhou’s Sublime Theory. This part firstly introduces his Ugly theory, and analyzes the solution to the contradictions. Apart from this, it discusses with Zhou Laixiang’s Sublime Theory. The researcher points out the history of traditional Chinese culture and its unique mode of Ugliness.The third part is about the influence of Chinese Classical Harmonious Aesthetics and the establishment of a contemporary aesthetics. The researcher tries to summarize Zhou Laixiang’s Traditional Harmony Aesthetics’impaction, and grasp the characteristics of its theoretical value, meaning and limitations. On this basis, the paper evaluates Professor Zhou’s Modern Dialectical Harmonious about the Two Combination, besides the researcher puts forward views and opinions on the development and construction of contemporary aesthetics.Overall, this paper studies the theory of Harmonious Aesthetics, more understands of harmony and Chinese Classical Aesthetics.
