《The Monkey King》and 《Feelings of Mountains and Waters》areunparalleled pinnacles in the Chinese animation history. As greattreasures, they provide future generations steady streams of inspirationand insight. Focusing on the animation color modes of 《The Monkey King》and 《Feelings of Mountains and Waters》, this article analyzes colorstyles of these two animations in layman’s language which are comparedin fluctuation to static and realism to imaginary, and studies thecultural origins behind the unique color expression thoroughly. Based onthe extensive research of literature, this article summarizes thesuccessful color mode experience of 《The Monkey King》and 《Feelings ofMountains and Waters》, and reflects on the possibility and practicalsignificance of the application of this color usage pattern in today’sanimation color.
