World Art History is so popular a topic in the process of the Subject of ArtHistory. With the concept of “Spirit” and dialectics, Hegel advanced a general modelfor the history, which provided a theoretical system for World Art History. After theturn of the19th and20th centuries, a worldwide perspective had obviously beenadopted in the German-speaking countries. While the process of globalization reacheda climax in the latter half of the20th century, World Art Studies became an importanttrend of thought in Western scholars. Also, the establishment of institutions andcurriculum provision to embody the tendency of the study of World Art History. Butin recent years, the future of World Art History is becoming a burning question. Thisarticle focus on how western scholars write World Art History nowadays from threeparticular perspectives: the compilation of text books for general history, historians’classic personal views, and academic conference.
