At the beginning of the twentieth century, Laurence Binyon was apioneer and a person of authority in the field of Asian Art, as wellas a widely known poet. He showed the British public on their way tounderstanding oriental art and culture with his poetic sensibilityand outstanding style of writing. Meanwhile, during the transmissionof Asian Art,Binyon intended to explore the inner different spiritand ideal from the Western art by tracing it back to its own culturalbackground. Through his significant words, Binyon criticized thesepeople who held prejudice views against the unfamiliar land. As aresult, it was the art works of sophisticated and sentient being inhis Asian Art study that delighted a new perspective of developmentfor the British art critics,litterateurs and artists.
