Koryo Celadon, the peak work of ancient ceramics craft in Korea Peninsula, is renowned in the world. So the study of Koryo Celadon is becoming a popular topic. Among numerous research subjects, the origin of Koryo Celadon is overwhelmingly important. This paper will probe the time and the background of Koryo Celadon’s birth, the relationship between Yue Kiln porcelain technology spread to Korea Peninsula and the origin of Koryo Celadon, as well as the ways and means of technology outflow to Korea Peninsula and etc..The spread of Yue Kiln celadon technology to Korea Peninsula plays a vital role in its ceramic technology development, especially in mature celadon’s formation. Through the comparative study of Yue Kiln and Koryo celadon kiln in formula, sagger and burning, furnace, we can find out Koryo Celadon’s imitation and acquisition from Yue Kiln. Although Yue Kiln porcelain technology spread to Korea Peninsula was just a moment in the long history, it went through decades even hundreds of transition period from the have-nots to the haves, from simple to more complicated historical process. The birth of Koryo Celadon was in the late Tang Dynasty, Wu Dynasties. It was also a period that two countries exchanges most frequently and closely in policy, economics and culture. In such case, Yue Kiln celadon technology was spread to Korea Peninsula. Moreover, popular tea culture in Korea Peninsula contributed to the increased demand for porcelain. To some extent, it stimulated the development of ceramics. Mostly high-grade porcelains were provided to the court and official. The origin of Koryo Celadon had a tight relationship with official’s operation management to kiln factories.As an important part of the monastery economy in ancient times, ceramics often coexisted with monasteries, especially in the ceramics production regions like Zhejiang, Fujian. There were many kinds of possible ways for monasteries developing ceramics, such as rental, loan, cooperation or self-operation and so forth. Late Tang Dynasty and Wu Dynasties was a period that China and Korea exchanged Buddhism most frequently. So there was one of possibilities for Yue Kiln porcelain technology spread to Korean Peninsula by means of Buddhism exchange.In addition, business activity also played a significant role in exchange between China and Korea. The nature of businessman’s pursuing interest may help Yue Kiln porcelain technology to Korea Peninsula. A more representative figure was Qinghai Ambassador Zhang Baogao in late Tang Dynasty.Since Pre-Qin Dynasty, people in the eastern area of Zhejiang had frequent transportation communication, which relied on developed shipbuilding, seamanship and convenient sea transportation. It was by southern sea route that made Yue Kiln porcelain technology spread to Korea Peninsula.
