Measuring Research On Verbs Of Nearly Ten Years’ Newspapers And Magazines For Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

With the improvement of China’s international status, Chinese language become a hot international language, more and more overseas students come to China to learn Chinese. Overseas students’oral Chinese level and listening ability are better than reading and writing ability due to social intercourse, so it is necessary to find a good way to improve overseas students’reading ability. Pratical speaking, students can improve their reading ability through reading magazines and newspapers, in this way, they can learn more about the national conditions and custom culture of modern China and woven into the life of Chinese people. Vocabulary is the basis of language, the amount of vocabularies students owned directly effect their level of reading. Verb is a very important part of Chinese vocabulary,so it is necessary to research verbs of magazines and newspapers which would devote to Chinese teaching of foreigners. I firstly create a database of Chinese language which come from China Daily, Youth Digest, Reader and Novel Monthly (from2003-2011),secondly, extract the basic verb which owm three principles such as "general usage in a nation, solid status in history, strong capacity of forming" by Word segmentation software and Word frequency statistics software,, thirdly research the collocations and collocative types of basic verb. The research results can be reference of teachers who teaching reading course and overseas students who learn Chinese, it can also be helpful to the compilation of Chinese Dictionary and Chinese book for foreigners.The thesis can be divided into five chapters, the first chapter introduce the reasons why I choose the topic, summarizes of relevance research, purpose and significance of my research and theoretical basis. The second chapter introduce the characteristics of basic verb and softwares used in this paper. The third chapter analysis the extraction of high frequency verb. The fourth chapter introduce the monosyllable verb’s capacity of forming and solid status in history, then show the word list of basic verb. The fifth chapter use the method of metrical study, introduce the collocations and collocative types of ten monosyllable verb and five disyllable verb.
