Hong Wu Zheng Yun was a very important official rhyme book during Ming andQing Dynasties. It was an important rhyme book published by the centeralgovernment. Many defects as it had, it was still the official rhyme book in thebeginning of Ming Dynasty, and it was an important reference for a lot of books. Butit remained a lot of questions for the later generations, as an official rhyme book, whywere there so many differences between the current pronunciations at time shown byother documents? We still need to investigate whether Hong Wu Zheng Yun showedthe current pronunciations or there were some mistakes in other materials.Fan Yi Lao Qi Da Po Tong Shi and Si Sheng Tong Jie were two importantChinese language textbooks edited by the famous linguist Cui Shi Zhen duringKorean Period. Both of them were based on Hong Wu Zheng Yun. Fan Yi Lao Qi DaPu Tong Shi showed the changes of current pronunciations by Left Pronunciation andRight Pronunciation. There were three systems in Si Sheng Tong Jie, StandardPronunciation, Common Pronunciation, and Present Common Pronunciation. Thecharacters of both books showed the real situations of Chinese language pronunciation.Both of these books were published later then Xun Min Zheng Yin, labeled thepronunciations with phonetic the Korean Script. They were the living fossils ofChinese language at Ming Dynasty, and they were the best evidences.Based on the previous researches, this article uses comparation, conduction,conclusion, current and history methods, makes fully advantages of phonographiccharacters of the Korean Script, researches the pronunciation characters comparedwith Hong Wu Zheng Yun.There are six chapters in this article. There are five sections in Chapter One. Itbriefly introduced the historical situation of the Korean Chinese pronunciation, thepresent research situation of Korean rhyme books, and the main resources, methodsand goals of my research.There are two sections in Chapter Two. It introduced the phonetic notationsystems of two important rhyme books in Korean Period, Fan Yi Lao Qi Da Po TongShi and Si Sheng Tong Jie.There are two sections in Chapter Three. It analysed the phonetic notation systemwith initial consonants, vowels, and tones. With charts, it clearly showed the rhymesystem of Hong Wu Zheng Yun.There are three sections in Chapter Four. It compares the pronunciations in FanYi Lao Qi Da Po Tong Shi and Hong Wu Zheng Yun in charts in initial consonants,vowels, and tones. It analysed whether Hong Wu Zheng Yun showed the currentpronunciation at that time.There are three sections in Chapter Five. It compares the pronunciations in SiSheng Tong Jie and Hong Wu Zheng Yun in charts in initial consonants, vowels, andtones. It analysed whether Hong Wu Zheng Yun showed the current pronunciation at that time.Each chapter analyses the combination problems of Zhi Zhuang Zhang of initialconsonants, voiceless and voiced consonants, changes of vowels, keeping the endingconsonants or not. After comparative analysis, this article points out that though HongWu Zheng Yun was an official rhyme book, it didn’t show the current pronunciation atMing Dynasty. And based on the evidences on the Korean rhyme books, this articleinvestigates the changes of the pronunciations in Ming Dynasty.
