Modern Chinese monosyllabic hand verbs are typical verbs. Holding -tool hand verbs belong to a lower classification, and have their own characteristics. In this paper, holding-tool hand monosyllabic verbs are the objects as the research object, and we will base on the modern Chinese synchronic level, and using a large number of corpuses, and describe their character from the syntax, semantics.The paper consists of three chapters, foreword and summary as well. The foreword makes an overall review of a brief introduction to the hand verbs; the holding-tool hand verbs and the tools, also the method and the theoretical and practical significance of this study. The first chapter mainly defines the holding-tool hand verbs:on the basis of this and the features of the using-tool, we put them into three categories:using a certainty tool and using a kind of tool and using more than one kind of tool. The second chapter mainly describes their syntactic features, contains analyzing and studying the syntactic distribution, and the type of the object and the complement, and the most frequently sentence. The third chapter analyses their semantic features. We mainly focus on abstracting the attributes of the holding-tool hand verbs, at the same time analysis the"O"of the"V+O" and the"X"of the"V+X+O", and simply related to the valence. The last part summarizes research results and demerits of this dissertation.
