But in the era of development, social changing dramatically, with highly developed economy in twenty-first Century, great changes have taken place in ethnic minority areas, life richer and more open, more modern, so as to cause the collision between tradition and modernity, conflict, ethnic customs of minority tradition gradually fade, reflect the minority traditional graffiti is possibly a recession, variation, and even death. Gongbi painting in depicting the customs of ethnic minorities, has its unique advantage inheritance customs of ethnic minorities, ethnic culture, it does not abandon the traditional, but also face the reality, innovation. So, rooted in the life of the ethnic minorities, to describe their life style, inherit their splendid culture is the inevitable choice of history gives the painting.Based on the field investigation, data access, analysis and comparison, the creation practice, the contemporary ethnic customs with traditional painting made corresponding research and analysis. This paper is divided into four chapters:the first chapter is the introduction, briefly describes the writing background, purpose and significance of the thesis and research are analyzed in detail, then the research content, framework and research method are described; the second chapter is the representative works of ancient ethnic style of painting, further analysis of these ancient and contemporary folk painting works, summarizes the artistic characteristics of the performance of various periods of ethnic minority customs paintings; the third chapter is the investigation and experience and the sense of the enlightenment, borrow outside the box to the jade, learn from others’s paintings to analyze how to use painting to record local customs of ethnic minorities law; Chapter fourth Tibetan and Huayao Dai to contemporary brushwork form style creation, combined with painting experience, summed up the experience and lessons, to improve to the level of theory research, make practical skills more scientific.
