As a typical cultural product, the export of film and television products can not only bring huge economic benefits to the country, but also spread their values to other countries in the world, which is helpful to drive the development of related industries’progress and enhance the international influence. Nowadays, the film and television products trade is an important indicator for evaluation the "soft power" of a country, and occupies a pivotal position in the national economy.The cultural aggression has become an effective way for the capitalist powers to take a new round of expansion. In the face of strong impact of American culture, the countries of the world are taking different protection policies for the film and television trade to ensure healthy development of the domestic film and television industry and national cultural security.This article divided into five chapters. Chapter one has carried on a general introduction. Chapter tow has probe into the meaning of the film and television trade barriers and described the history of the film and television trade protection. Chapter three analyzes the benefits of tariffs, quotas and subsidies from the economics perspective and compares the film and television trade barriers of countries. Chapter four takes China as an example to analyze the effects of the film and television trade barriers, and points out that drawing on the successful experience of the South Korea and Europe, China should strengthen the development of the film and television industry and improve the international competitiveness of the film and television products trade, at the same time, focus on protection of cultural security and promotion of the Chinese civilization to the whole world. Chapter five predicts the development trend of the film and television trade barriers.
