A Study Of Chinese Film Trade Development And The Strategy

With the rapid growth of the film production and movie screen, Chinese film industry developed quickly in recent years, and the box office creates a high record consistently. However, film trade is in a state of deficit for a long time, for the capability to Chinese film’s export is still weak.As the significant part of cultural products, film trade development, which acquires both cultural and commercial property, plays an important role in spreading Chinese culture and improving national soft power. Therefore, it is urgent to solve the main problems contained in Chinese film trade for china becoming the cultural power from economic one. Based on the trade theory, the thesis points out the general direction of Chinese film trade policy through elaborating trade theory related to film industry. At the same time, the thesis analyzes the main problems in Chinese film trade, and put forward strategies and suggestions specifically.Introduction gives the research background, the significance in the selected topic and the literature review. The second part, which is the theoretical support of the thesis, summarizes the trade theory related to film industry and enlightenment to Chinese film trade development. The third part elaborates the current situation of Chinese film trade and points out the main problems to be solved, such as rigid censorship system, imbalance in the structure of the film industry and low marketing level, etc. The fourth part introduces the trade development strategies in United States, South Korea and France, etc. The last part is the research on the strategies to the problems existed in Chinese film trade, putting forward some scientific inference and policy suggestions.
