The appearance of digital life enriches people’s way of studying and life. To assure thatlearners are able to adapt to the developing society, the living courses theory and teachingmethod must be reformed according to the changing of learners and different periods. As anew way of studying, the entertainment mode in art and design not only can be used to learnthe skills of using information, but also make learners be used to the thinking mode of digitalepoch.This paper analyzes the differences between new education and the old one, course mindin new period, study resources as well as the changing of learners; expounds that theentertainment mode, a new carrier of knowledge and a learning tool, is necessary and flexibleto the learners’ self-construction. It was enlighted by the cognitive flexibility theory andmultiple intelligence theory and game teaching theory and influenced by post-moderneducation theory and its thought.This paper consists of four parts. The first chapter comments the theme of this thesis andraises the questions that will be solved as well as the research methods. The second chapterspreads out the discussion from the theory foundation, the society changing, computer gamecases, the relationship between education and games, and the situation of art and designeducation. The third chapter compares the teaching factor with the games factor, leads in theadvantage games connected with Dick model and virtual-real technology and the gametechnology, etc., At the same time, it expounds the implement strategy of the entertainmentmode in art and design. The game, a start of formulating courses, can provide an advantagesituation for education. And the students could achieve the study task by certain content.During the period, teachers are able to combine the teaching content with the students’computer games to mix game and education. The last chapter is a conclusion part. Itconcludes the way of the entertainment mode in art and design education.The entertainment mode in art and design education advocates the learners acquireknowledge in entertainment. In this case, learners can choose different courses based onindividual level and learning capacity so we can realize the individuality of teaching. People who play the game can choose different ways and methods to finish their tasks because everymethod contains different purposes and problems and different learners can choose differentsolutions according to their own level. The entertainment mode in art and design education isnot only a conceive taken into consideration the actuality of computer games and thedisadvantage of education games, but also a solution to some phenomena, such as positiveattitude to games, negative attitude to games and being away from games. The proposal of theentertainment mode in art and design education will must be a extraordinary meaningful stepon the way of the education games.
