The Research Of Localizers In Shui Hu Zhuan

In this paper,we have done frequency statistics about the localizers that exist in Shui Hu Zhuan.We have investigated their capability of combination with other word and phrase.We have studied the following aspects:(1)the semantic characteristics of localizers;(2)the syntactic function and position of localizers;(3)the symmetrical and asymmetrical phenomena of localizers in usage;(4)the synonymous localizers'comparative advantage in use;(5)the distribution and lurking of the preposition in the typical structure of"(prep) X+L".In this paper,we have combined the quantitative analysis with the qualitative analysis .In the same time,we also use the comparative analysis.This paper is divided into five sections:the introduction;the investigation of language material of Shui Hu Zhuan;the research of the simple localizers'usage;the research of the synthetic localizers'usage ;the conclusion. The introduction elaborates the significance of this issue,the definition and ownership of localizers,as well as the characteristics of them.In the same time,it has reviewed the research results of localizers,and introduced the expected goals and methods of our research.Chapter one has summarized the nature of linguistic material and usage of localizers in Shui Hu Zhuan.It has introduced the author,version and the era of Shui Hu Zhuan.In addition, it gives explanation on the principle that how to select localizers,and the results of frequency statistics.Chapter two describes and analyses the semantics,syntactic position and function of simple localizers,the symmetrical and asymmetrical phenomena between the localizers in pairs, the synonymous localizers'comparative advantage in use,and the distribution and lurking of the preposition in the typical structure of"(prep) X+L".Chapter three has studied the derivative localizers and complex localizers.It analyses their semantics and syntactic position and function.
