Listen To The National Music,Appreciate The Charm Of Dunhuang

Musical Painting of Dunhuang, as an large-scale national symphony, is one of the important fruits in the field of Chinese national orchestra creation since the21st century. The works is composed by Zhao Jiping, as its art director, and several other composers Jing Jianshu, Zhangjian and Han Lankui. On February29th,2012, it was auditioned at the grand theatre in Jincheng, Gansu Province. Then, it gained its successful premiere quickly in the concert hall of the National Grand Theater in Beijing on the evening of March4th. In the process of its premiere, it was conducted by the conductor Jing Jianshu, who also acts as one of its main composers, and played more than100excellent performers that come from the national troupe orchestras of Gansu Dance Theater and Xi’an Conservatory of Music. The works includes seven movements: the prelude Mogao Bar Chimes, Xiliang Musical Dance, the Story of Spring Yueya, the General’s Traveling, Dunhuang Fair, Flying Apsaras, and Poem of Dunhuang. Among the movements, the prelude and the last movement are composed by Jing Jianshu; the2nd and4th are composed by Zhang Jian; the3th and5th are created by Han Lankui with the6th composed by Zhao Jiping. The seven movements are well-proportioned, free or tense at times, and have their special features in the aspects of artistic conception, style, strength, tone, tone, speed and so on, which makes the style of the works harmonious and unified.The paper is mainly divided into four parts. In the first part, the author introduces several aspects of the works, such as its composers, the creation background and process, its basic structure and the relationship between the creation of the works and its composers. The second part is the core of the paper, in which the author mainly gives an in-depth analysis of the works from the aspects of music materials, the structure of its melody, the characteristics of its mode and tonality, and the rhythm in every movement. The third part is also an important one, in which the author discusses about the unique features of the works from the theme, the techniques of the instruments and its harmonic configuration. The last part talks about the inspirations that the works brings for us from two aspects. The first one is its successful value of art to make national symphony appear in common people’s life gradually based on the influences of the works. It is also hoped that more people can listen to the national music, appreciate the charm of for Dunhuang, and carry forward the national culture. The second inspiration is that musicians should pay more attention to the creation of national music so as to speed up the pace of internalization of national music.
