Literary Research On The Mirror Inscriptions Of Tang Dynasty

The bronze mirrors are important parts of ancients’daily life, which bear the functions of reflecting the appearance and appreciating the beauty. The pattern of bronze mirror can reflect the politics, economics and culture of its time. Among the pattern, the inscriptions are the most direct ones. The Tang Dynasty is a prosperous period of bronze mirrors. The inscriptions of the mirrors are also in booming development. They exceed the inscriptions of the previous dynasty in many aspects. So the inscriptions of Tang Dynasty are of high literature value.The inscriptions of Tang Dynasty have distinct stylistic features, which is most obvious in plalindromes. On one hand, they inherited the characteristics of the inscriptions on Han mirrors,"four-syllable" of the book of songs and parallel prose of Wei and Jin Dynasty. On the other hand, they are closely related to Tang Poetry and Tang Word. The inscriptions on Tang mirrors ran through the development of Tang Dynasty. So they are very important to understand the literature of Tang Dynasty.
