Shaanxi Tangsancai Art Museum, founded by Mr. Qi Yuejin in2011, is a private special thematic museum aiming at collecting, displaying and researching tri-colored glazed pottery, pottery figurines and other types of pottery models of the Tang Dynasty. I have recently been given an opportunity to sort the materials of no less than30bronze mirrors of the Tang Dynasty collected by this museum, well made with magnificent patterns, including special artistic mirrors such as the ones burnished with gold and silver inlay, which remain unpublished information. This thesis attempts to research these bronze mirrors by analyzing the dates, technologies and significance of the patterns, for the purpose of providing researchers of new materials.This thesis falls into four parts, Chapter One, Introduction, expounds the reasons for the topic selection, literature reviews, as well as research objectives and significance. Chapter Two, A Profile of the Bronze Mirrors Collected by Shaanxi Tangsancai Art Museum. Chapter Three, An Analysis of the Dating and Patterns Significance of the Bronzes Mirrors Collected by Shaanxi Tangsancai Art Museum, subdivides the dates of the bronze mirrors and probes into the patterns significance according to archaeological materials, published illustrated catalogs and previous researches. Chapter Four, Discussion of the Related Issues.The author attempts toexplore the imagery of different shapes of Tang bronze mirrors by comparing with the descriptions of bronze mirrors in poems of the Tang Dynasty.
